Search terms
A name, county, or other term entered in a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The query is handled under that provider's systems and policy. This site does not store or log search terms on its own servers.
Messages to the site
If you email us or submit a contact message, we use the details you provide to read and respond. We do not disclose that correspondence outside the site organization unless disclosure is needed to answer you, you direct us to share it, or a valid legal requirement compels it.
Technical Data and Cookies
Like most websites, a page request may create technical logs. Depending on the hosting and analytics services in use, these can include:

These uses help maintain the statewide reference service; they do not make any search result an official government record.

Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy notice and controls apply. We do not manage how an outside agency or company collects data on its own site.
Some advertising partners may use activity from multiple websites to select ads on their own systems. Those practices are controlled by the partner, not by this site's pages.

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by the services needed to operate the site, including:
- search partners that receive terms entered in their widget;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver or assess ads; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

We use reasonable, common safeguards for information under our control. No internet-connected service can promise complete security, and we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed, altered, or disclosed without authorization.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and is not designed to collect information from anyone under 18. We do not knowingly seek personal information from a minor. If a minor has sent us information, a parent or guardian may ask us to remove the message and related details.
Your Privacy Requests
You may ask what personal information we hold about a message you sent, request correction of an error in that information, ask that it be deleted, or object to certain uses. A request should identify the message or contact detail without including sensitive information that is not needed. We will review it and respond as our records and applicable obligations allow.
